Clematis ‘Jackmanii’ was introduced in 1858. In 1863 it was awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's First Class Certificate. Over a hundred years later, it was given the RHS Award of Garden Merit. A late flowering Clematis producing masses of velvety single dark purple flowers which fade to violet as they mature.
